The life of a science student

Hey, so today I being a science student want to share with you an incident which took place.

This happened to me very recently, where we had to perform an experiment regarding tissue culture in our lab, which we did but the result dint come as expected. As per the experiment the result won’t come at that instant so we had to wait for some days for the result to come but, when we went after 2 days to check the result some miracle happened which we never expected, fungi developed on it which meant that our experiment was contaminated.

PLANT TISSUE CULTURE

Now we had to decontaminate all the glasswares in which we prepared the culture. But for us, it was the first time doing the process so, we dint know how to do it and our subject handler was also absent.

Therefore, we asked another subject handler to explain the decontamination process and he explained as:

1)Clean the test tubes with water(having culture)

And we followed what he said.

But the story does not end here the suspense awaits,

The actual process was:

1)Autoclave(to kill the microorganisms in culture)

2)Wash it thoroughly first with normal water then with distilled water.

For those who are not science students let me tell you autoclave is like a sterilization method that kills microorganisms present on all the glassware.

AUTOCLAVE

As we followed the wrong procedure, something special was awaiting us the next day.

The next day we got scolding’s from our subject handler and the other teacher supported himself saying, we don’t follow his words.

We told our subject handler the truth and luckily she believed us. But she was still angry after we told her the truth, as she wanted us to contact her if we had any doubt which we dint.

That day we had to clean all the test tubes again and it was just because we dint ask our mam.

CLEANING OF GLASSWARES

That day I realized that if you have any doubt regarding a subject be it lab, only ask that subject handler or lab handler so that there will be no confusion.

This is one of my most memorable lab incidents which took place and, we get irritated by the above events but, we also get notified that we are science students and these incidents are common.

What about you guys? Did you make any story of yours which is unforgettable? If so do comment.

  1. Later the story became from most angry to most funny and realized we should never ask anything to our non subject handlers ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

  2. When I was a student once we had to cut frogs one of the guys didn’t make it unconscious properly so when he tried to pin it up it just hopped on his apron and we all started shouting. That’s a funny thing I can remember.๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ˜‚Well shared๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘
